How can VacationScheduler help me? Vacation scheduling can be time consuming and prone to errors. Our software makes creating a schedule a much easier task. It reduces scheduling errors.
When you add or delete a vacation, statistics are updated. The number of days remaining to the employee is adjusted. The number of employees who can be scheduled for the same days is changed.
If you are not a good typist – or even if you are – you can quickly add a vacation request with just three clicks of the mouse.
Reports allow you to keep on top of the vacation schedule. You can quickly print a nice neat calendar, or vacation schedule by week, or vacation schedule by day. Print reports showing what days are available for employees to request. VacationScheduler provides a lot of tools to handle the vacation scheduling task.
There are two ways that VacationScheduler can make your life easier.
First you can always keep tabs on scheduled vacation days. Reports show how many days an employee is eligible to take. They also show how many days have been scheduled for each employee. By checking the report you can prompt employees to schedule their vacations and stay on top of the situation.
Second, our employee attendance tracking module allows you to track the actual days an employee was on vacation. From time to times employees may work instead of taking their vacation. The attendance tracking module allows you to check the actual number vacation days taken.
We schedule by seniority - can VacationScheduler help us? VacationScheduler™ schedules employee by department in seniority date order. You can also schedule on a first-come, first-served basis or use a combination of these two methods.
We schedule on a first-come, first-served basis can VacationScheduler help? You can enter employees directly into the vacation schedule on a first-come, first-served basis. The software prevents scheduling, if there are not enough available days. If the employee does not have enough days, scheduling is prevented. Understaffing is prevented.
We schedule by seniority, and then on a first-come, first-served basis can VacationScheduler handle this? Yes! Some companies will schedule several weeks of vacation on a seniority basis. After this, vacations are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. VacationScheduler™ can handle this situation.

Generate a report on a single employee, department or your entire workforce. Look at attendance for a day, week, month or year. You can query the data in many different ways.
Can I publish the vacation calendar on the web? Yes! You can export the schedule and import it into a Trumba™ web calendar. The Trumba™ calendar can be published on the web. Employees can access the web calendar whenever they have internet access. You can password the calendar. We are not associated with Trumba. You have to set up an account with Trumba.
Can I publish available vacation days on the web? Yes! You can export the available vacation days and import the data into a Trumba™ web calendar. The Trumba™ calendar can be published on the web. Can I print an individual vacation report for an employee? Yes! You can print a report that just shows the scheduled vacations for an employee. The report also shows the number of days the employee is eligible to take and the number of days that are left to schedule.
How does VacationScheduler prevent understaffing? You set the number of employees who can be scheduled for vacation for every day of the year. This is done by department and optionally by work center within a department. During slow times, you can allow more employees to take vacations. During busy times you reduce or prevent vacations from being scheduled. Whether you schedule by seniority, or on a first-come, first served basis, VacationScheduler™ will prevent too many people from being scheduled.
How does VacationScheduler reduce employee dissension? VacationScheduler prevents scheduling mistakes. Scheduling is not difficult to do, but interruptions and lapses in concentration can cause errors that ripple through the schedule. The employer can be faced with an understaffing problem. If changes need to be made, then employees can be inconvenienced. At the very least, negotiation between management and one or more employees may be needed. Our vacation scheduling software can help minimize errors. VacationScheduler can calculate and re-calculate the schedule quickly. Some employers allow two alternatives for the first week, two alternatives for the second week… VacationScheduler can handle this as well as many other combinations of requests.
